Three persons were injured when a grenade lobbed by unidentified men exploded near the public market of Makilala, North Cotabato, on Monday night, the military said.
Colonel Prudencio Asto, Army 6th Infantry Division spokesman, said the explosion occurred around 8:15 p.m.
Two men riding on a motorcycle threw a grenade at a group of people near the public market, injuring Felipe Alip, Jojo Lagepo, and Tatme Talic, Asto said in a text message.
The three were brought to the Makilala Medical Specialist Hospital for treatment.
Investigators were looking at personal grudge as among possible motives for the attack, Asto said. (John Roson)
