Power outages are being experienced in Bukidnon after a
5.2-magnitude earthquake hit the province Monday afternoon, a military spokesman said.
“There have been no reports of damage so far, but intermittent power failures are being experienced in Valencia City and other areas,” Maj. Eugenio Osias, Army 4th Infantry Division spokesman, said in a phone interview Monday night.
The temblor, which was tectonic in origin, struck around 5:43 p.m., according to the Philippine Institue of Volcanology and Seismology.
Intensity 5 was felt in Valencia City, followed by Intensity 4 in Malaybalay City, Intensity 3 in Quezon, Libuna, and Manolo Fortich towns, Intensity 2 in Cagayan de Oro City, and Intensity 1 in Hibok-Hibok and Camiguin, the agency said in a report on its website. (John Roson)
