Robbers took P1.5 million worth of cash, jewelry, and other goods from a silver shop and convenience store in Baguio City early Monday, police said.
Five bonnet-wearing men entered the Ibay Silver Shop and Convenience Store in Lourdes Proper around 1:30 a.m. by dismantling the roll-up door’s padlock with a bolt cutter, Supt. Engelbert Soriano, Cordillera regional police spokesman, said.
Aside from cash and jewelry, the suspects also took various wines and several rims of cigarettes, Soriano said in text message.
Senior Insp. Karen Sta. Juana, Baguio City Police spokesperson, said the robbers also mauled and hogtied security guard Frederick Tolentino, 25, at the guardhouse before taking his shotgun, and escaped. (John Roson)
