Four people, including a baby boy, were killed while 11 others were injured as the passenger jeep they were riding fell into a creek in Pasil, Kalinga, Thursday afternoon, police reported Friday.

A report from the Cordillera regional police identified the fatalities as Virginia Dingal, 78; Lester Guisoben; Jearin Trixie Wayaway, 1; and Binay Dalnag, 45.

Injured were Nardo Wayaway, 26; Bonie Pan-oy, 55; Dalin Telan, 40, Leonie Tullabang, 25; Corazon Alwod, 68; Elisa Surat, 54; Imelda Wayaway, 31, and her 1-year-old son; Rodrigo Surat, 55; Zared To-oc, 11; and Rocky Amiyan.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. while Dougan Lingayo was driving the jeep (AYA-262) in Sitio Furanao, Brgy. Balatoc.

The jeep bumped a boulder beside the road, causing the driver to loose control of the steering wheel until the vehicle fell into a 7-meter pit with a creek at its base, according to the report.

Authorities are still looking for Lingayo, who fled the area after the incident. (John Roson)
