Three people, including two policemen, were killed while another was injured when the patrol jeep they were riding fell into a ravine in Dalaguete, Cebu, early Thursday.

SPO1 Jose Gino Ursunal and PO3 Alan Sanoy, both of the Dalaguete Police, and their civilian driver Federico Caruana all died on the spot, Central Visayas regional police spokesman Supt. Clifford Gainarod said.

Sanoy survived but suffered injuries on the different parts of the body.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m., while Caruana was driving the Dalaguete Police’s blue patrol jeep in the mountainous area of Brgy. Mantalogngon.

Caruana and the policemen were on their way back to the station after securing the barangay’s fiesta celebration, Gainarod said.

“The patrol jeep fell into the ravine due to the slippery road and thick fog, it was almost ‘zero visibility,'” Gainarod said, citing information from the Dalaguete Police. (John Roson)
