A woman stabbed her grandfather, grandmother, and 2-year-old cousin to death and seriously injured two other young relatives during a fit of depression, in Davao City on Thursday afternoon, police said.
Marivic Liloc, 22, killed her grandfather Fidel, 75, grandmother Teodora, 74, and cousin Christian Mark Campano, 2, Davao City Police director Senior Supt. Ronald dela Rosa.
Christine May Campano, 11, and 1-month-old Kathleen Campano, also cousins of Liloc, were brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center after also being stabbed by the latter.
The two minors were seriously injured and were still being observed by doctors around 6 p.m., Dela Rosa said in a mobile phone message.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m. at the home of the Lilocs and Campanos at Lot 7 Blk. 6, Pizarro Village, Brgy. Panacan.
Liloc’s blind grandfather, grandmother, and young cousins were all sleeping when she attacked them with two kitchen knives, Dela Rosa said.
One of the bloodied knives was recovered at the scene while the other was found in Liloc’s possession when she was arrested by police.
“The suspect was observed to be under the influence of prohibited drugs and depressed due to a misunderstanding with her girlfriend,” Dela Rosa said.
Police are now preparing two counts of parricide, one murder, and two frustrated murders against Liloc. (John Roson)
