Seven men facing different charges broke out of their detention cell at the police station in Polilio, Quezon, on Thursday, according to a police report.

Those who escaped were Melchor Buegis, 43, charged with murder; Santos Penascusas, (rape); Mark Anthony Capayas, 18, Leoven Bo, 24, (robbery); Arnold John Montano, 19, (robbery and illegal possession of deadly weapon); Merlito Bo, 26, (illegal possession of deadly weapon); and Arwel Grispor, 33, (theft), according to a report emailed by the Quezon Provincial Police.

The seven escaped by sawing off the iron bar of their cell at the Polilio Police Station in Brgy. Poblacion, the report read.

PO2 Randy Barias discovered the jailbreak while on duty around 2:30 a.m. and informed the other policemen.

Police are now conducting manhunt operations for the fugitives, according to the report. (John Roson)
