Thirteen people were injured in an accident involving a passenger bus and two 10-wheeler trucks in Tagkawayan, Quezon, early Friday, police said.
An RSL bus hit an incoming truck before the latter was sideswiped by another truck, Quezon Provincial Police director Senior Supt. Valeriano de Leon said.
Twelve passengers of the bus and truck driver Buhay Tolentino were injured and brought to the Maria Eleazar Memorial District Hospital for treatment, De Leon said in a text message.
The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. along the Quirino Highway in Brgy. San Vicente.
Jose Batola was driving the bus (EVP-976) towards the south when his vehicle hit a 10-wheeler truck (RFR-312) being driven by Avelino Bagangan towards Manila, De Leon said.
Initial investigation indicated that Batola tried to overtake the 10-wheeler truck (UVB-833) driven by Tolentino which, in turn, sideswiped the tail of Bagangan’s truck, the police official said.
All vehicles suffered a still undetermined amount of damages. (John Roson)
